Programs
Scholarship • Leadership • Service
Since 2006, we have provided training for teachers and counselors, worked with students in small groups, and worked 1-on-1 with students and families. Our work is highly adaptable. Pre-COVID, we hosted monthly college planning sessions with students and families in-person at Turner Chapel AME Church in Marietta, Georgia; at Guilford Technical Community College in Greensboro, North Carolina; at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Florida; and in the School Board Room in Lake City, South Carolina. During COVID, our in-person meetings became virtual and we have continued using that model, which allows us to bring together students from throughout the United States.
All of our programs are supported by 1-on-1 instruction; small group instruction; print materials; and an online curriculum. We encourage you to visit the web pages under Programs for information about all of our current programs.
The work of the foundation is researched-based and research-responsive. The community workshops and College Planning Cohorts are closing the college knowledge gap, increasing college match, expanding scholarship opportunities, and providing students with comprehensive college-bound plans designed to gain admission into the right colleges and to receive the necessary scholarships and institutional aid to avoid or minimize student loan debt.
