2025-26 Cohort Youth Leadership Board Registration

The opportunity to serve on the College Planning Cohort Youth Leadership Board is only available to returning students. Students who have previously served on the youth leadership and who are in good standing may automatically purchase the discounted registration if they are returning to the youth leadership board. Students who have previously participated in the program, but who have not served on the youth leadership board, may apply to serve on the youth leadership board by May 1. To apply, interested students must submit the following documents via email to cpc@collegeplanningcohort.com:

• Résumé
• Most recent high school transcript
• An essay in response to the prompt, “Why I want to serve on the college planning cohort youth leadership board and the areas in which I am committed to leading and serving.” (minimum 250 words)

Our youth leadership board provides opportunities for students to serve in meaningful leadership roles and engage in meaningful areas of community service to bring value to our program and strengthen each student’s leadership and community service profiles. Students may be called upon to serve as ambassadors for our program in their local schools, churches, and communities; lead our social media outreach efforts; produce fliers or videos to promote our program; speak on panels; be interviewed by local media; serve as discussion group leaders; serve as contributors to our books and materials; or create College Cohort Clubs at their school, in their church, or in their local community.

The expectation of students serving on our youth leadership board is that they will be intentional and self-motivated in their efforts to lead and serve. Such actions have been revealed in the body of work of previous youth leadership board students who have received full scholarships to Brown University (2), MIT, North Carolina A&T State University, The University of Chicago (2), and Williams College (3) substantiating that the leadership and community service profiles developed through their service contributed value to their college applications.

Youth leadership board positions are limited and vary from year to year based on the initiatives and projects being pursued and developed in our program. Leadership board positions may be further limited due to the number of returning students who have previously served on the youth leadership board, who, if in good standing, have priority.

Registration may only be purchased under the following conditions:

1. Student must be approved to serve on the College Planning Cohort Youth Leadership Board prior to purchase or the discount will not apply and the purchase will be refunded.
2. Students must remain in good standing in fulfilling their responsibilities on the youth leadership board throughout the 2025-26 registration period.
3. The discount off of the normal registration fee is being applied to the student’s registration in appreciation for the value the student brings to the College Planning Cohort program through their duties and responsibilities on the youth leadership board.
4. The registration fee discount is only available until leadership board positions are filled, or June 1, whichever occurs first.

Note: Registration fees are nonrefundable. If a student is removed from the youth leadership board with cause, the registration fee discount no longer applies. Please review our Terms and Conditions before purchasing your registration.
